Governor Lt Gen Shri Gurmit Singh (Retd) said that the ex-servicemen of the state can contact the Governor for help and solution of any problem. Governor Shri Gurmit Singh is available to help the soldiers, ex-servicemen and their dependents always. The Governor said that the efforts being made by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the welfare of the soldiers are visible on the ground. He said that the benefits of various schemes of the government are visible on the ground during his recent visits to Pauri and Tehri districts. Women of hilly areas are going tobring revolution in Uttarakhand with their dedication, hard work, honesty and skills. At the ground level, women self help groups are doing good work through micro financing. Governor Shri Gurmit Singh said that no order is required for ex-servicemen to do good work for the welfare of society and nation building. They are natural leaders. They themselves should take initiative in the works of public interest. Governor Lt Gen Shri Gurmit Singh (Retd) participated in the Ex-Servicemen Conference organized by Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha on Wednesday at Sainik Sansthan, Sub Area Garhi Cantt. Congratulating for all the upcoming festivals including Diwali, Governor Shri Gurmit Singh said that he himself is also an ex-serviceman. All soldiers have the same DNA. Jai Hind, Tricolor, love of patriotism, service, sacrifice, dedication and sacrifice are in our DNA, in our blood.
Governor Shri Gurmit Singh said that ex-servicemen and army officers have good experience of transformational leadership. With such leadership, we can bring a big change in the people and the social system. Governor said that think tank like Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha is needed even in a military dominated state like Uttarakhand. There should be a R&D related here. Leadership quality has to be developed at every level in the organization. Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha is an organization based on harmony in which soldiers, saints, women, patriots, experts from various fields are contributing.
Governor Shri Gurmit Singh said that today we have a huge asset in the form of retired jawans at the grassroots level and retired defense officers at the higher level. They can have a significant contribution in holistic and transformational development up to village, district, state and nation level. Governor Shri Gurmit Singh said that it is a matter of pride for me to become the Governor of Saiyadham, Uttarakhand. It is a shared honor of every soldier. I am happy that the Central and Uttarakhand Government are making serious efforts for the welfare of their soldiers and ex-servicemen. Hope that more and more daughters of the hills will also join the military services and make us all proud. Sainya Dham is being built in Dehradun as Pancham Dham. On this occasion, representatives of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, Uttarakhand Ex-Servicemen League, Uttarakhand Purva Sainik and Ardh Sainik Sangathan, PBOR Organization, Ex-Servicemen Central Organization, Gorkhali Sudhar Sabha and other ESM organizations made suggestions in the interest of soldiers and ex-servicemen and their dependents in the state.
The Governor assured to consider all the suggestions as far as possible.
On this occasion Col TP Tyagi, BRS Rawat, Shri Guru Pawan Sinha, Lt. H. Shakti Gurung, M. J. P. Soni, M. J. M. L. Aswal and a large number of ex-servicemen were present.
