02-06-2026:Speech by the Hon’ble Governor Addressing the Children of SOS Children’s Village, Bhimtal
(Date: June 02, 2026)
Dear Children and Dedicated Members of the Institution,
First of all, I extend a warm welcome to all of you to Lok Bhavan. My affection, blessings, and best wishes for a bright future go out to each and every one of you.
Today, being among you fills my heart with immense joy and emotion. When I see your smiling faces and enthusiastic spirit, I catch a glimpse of India’s bright future. You are the priceless strength of our nation, and through your dreams, hard work, and self-confidence, you will take India to new heights in the years to come.
I would especially like to appreciate the dedication, service, and compassionate approach of SOS Children’s Villages of India. This institution is not merely a shelter; it is a family built on love, trust, and a sense of belonging. Here, children receive not only care and protection but also education, values, skill development, and inspiration to lead self-reliant lives.
The “Family-Like Care” model followed here is truly inspiring. The affection of a mother, the companionship of siblings, and a home-like environment provide children with confidence and emotional support. It sends a powerful message that no matter how challenging life’s circumstances may be, a new beginning is always possible through love and guidance.
Similarly, initiatives such as “Kinship Care” and “Foster Care” strengthen the values of family, belonging, and social protection. These efforts teach society that compassion and cooperation can bring new hope into the life of any child.
Dear Children,
I am delighted to see that alongside education, special emphasis is being placed on youth skill development here. Education provides knowledge, while skills make you self-reliant. I am confident that through your knowledge, talent, and hard work, you will achieve success in life and make meaningful contributions to nation-building.
There is one message I especially want to share with you: never allow your past to become your weakness. Your future is bright, and each of you possesses limitless potential. Never consider yourself inferior to anyone. You have the same abilities that can make a person a scientist, teacher, sportsperson, artist, soldier, or servant of the nation.
Challenges will certainly come in life, but always remember that the diamond that shines the brightest is the one that has endured the greatest pressure. Therefore, never let your dreams become small. Dream big, have the courage to pursue those dreams, and work tirelessly to achieve them.
This is an age of technology and innovation. Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital technologies, and modern skills are shaping the future of the world. I encourage all of you to learn these new technologies, keep yourselves updated with changing times, and use technology positively so that you can move ahead in the race of progress and play your role in building a developed India.
I am pleased to say that SOS Children’s Villages of India has demonstrated that a true family is not formed merely by blood relations but by love, trust, responsibility, and belonging. This institution not only gives children a life but also provides them with dignity, purpose, and the confidence to move forward.
It is highly commendable that SOS Children’s Village Bhimtal has, since 1984, supported more than 300 children in need by providing them with care, protection, and opportunities to become self-reliant. This work is truly a great service to society and the nation.
I would also like to specially appreciate all the dedicated caregivers, mothers, staff members, and leaders associated with this institution. You have brought hope, confidence, and dignity into the lives of countless children. This is not merely social service—it is nation-building in the truest sense.
I assure you that every possible support and encouragement will be extended to such noble efforts. Together, we must create an environment where every child can live a safe, dignified, and opportunity-filled life.
Dear Children,
Recognize the uniqueness within you. Always dream big, have confidence in yourselves, and never abandon the path of honesty and hard work. Success will surely follow.
I firmly believe that many among you will grow up to become inspiring personalities who will guide society and contribute significantly to the nation’s future.
With these best wishes, I pray for your happiness, safety, good health, and a bright future.
Jai Hind!
