30-04-2024:On the Occasion of the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Theme “One Humanity, One Heart The Teachings of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji”

    Publish Date : April 30, 2026

    Jai Hind!

Respected former President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji, revered spiritual masters, distinguished guests, and seekers from across the world — I extend my heartfelt greetings to all of you.

The Divinity Within and Universal Consciousness

Standing on the sacred land of Kanha Shanti Vanam, one feels as if the heart itself has connected with the rhythm of the universe. This place is not merely an ashram, but a living spiritual center of the modern age, where meditation, service, and surrender come together to build a global family of humanity.

The Heart: Center of Consciousness and Divinity

The heart is not just an organ that beats — it is the true center of our consciousness and soul. Our scriptures say:
“Hridi ayam iti hridayam” — the heart is the abode of the Divine.

The path to truth is not found outside, but within — in that inner voice we call the call of the heart. Through meditation, when we dive deep within, we realize that the peace and love we seek outside already exist within us.

A Sacred Confluence of Spiritual Streams

Today, we stand at the confluence of three great spiritual traditions:

Pujya Babuji Maharaj, who brought meditation to the masses

Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj, who inspired society with values and service

And the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, whose 350th martyrdom anniversary reminds us of sacrifice, courage, and humanity

The Life and Purpose of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was not just a saint — he was a guiding light who showed humanity the path of courage, sacrifice, and truth.

At a time when injustice was at its peak and faith was under attack, he did not merely preach — he shaped history through his sacrifice.

The Cry of the Kashmiri Pandits

History tells us that when around 500 Kashmiri Pandits came to him in fear and suffering, Guru Ji made their pain his own.

They were being forced to choose between conversion and death. This was not just a crisis of a community — it was an attack on the soul of humanity.

    The Resolve of Sacrifice

Guru Ji’s heart was filled with compassion, yet his resolve was firm. He chose to challenge injustice not with the sword, but with sacrifice.

He was arrested and brought to Delhi. He was asked to either perform a miracle or accept conversion. He calmly refused both.

Even after witnessing the torture and martyrdom of his beloved disciples, he remained fearless and unwavering.

“Hind Di Chadar” — Protector of Faith and Humanity

On November 24, 1675, at Chandni Chowk, Delhi, he gave his life but did not abandon his principles.

This was not just a martyrdom — it was the victory of conscience over tyranny, truth over fear.

He proved that true religion stands for the protection of others’ faith as well.
That is why he is remembered as “Hind Di Chadar” — the shield of India.

A New Awakening: Birth of the Khalsa

His martyrdom was not an end, but the beginning of a revolution.
His son, Guru Gobind Singh, later established the Khalsa — a community of saint-soldiers committed to justice and righteousness.

    Legacy of Equality and Courage

The Sikh tradition of courage, discipline, and sacrifice challenged oppression and laid the foundation of a society based on equality and justice.

The values of equality and human dignity seen in Sikh culture today are a direct result of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s supreme sacrifice.

    Relevance in Today’s World

In today’s world, struggling with division and intolerance, his teachings are more relevant than ever.

    He teaches us:

True strength lies in inner peace

True courage lies in standing for truth

True devotion lies in serving humanity

    Development with Values

India is moving forward with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
But development is meaningful only when it includes compassion, ethics, and humanity — the very ideals Guru Ji stood for.

    One Humanity, One Heart

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s sacrifice is not just history — it is a living inspiration.

Let us light that flame within ourselves and work towards a world where “One Humanity, One Heart” becomes reality.

    Balance Between Nature and Spirituality

Kanha Shanti Vanam teaches us that true development must be in harmony with nature.
Nature is the first expression of the Divine — without respecting it, spirituality remains incomplete.

    Message for the Youth

My young friends — you are the energy of this nation.

    Without spirituality, intelligence becomes ego.
But when connected with the heart, it becomes wisdom.

In this digital age, meditation is your protection — it builds not just focus, but character.
Remember: the future belongs to those whose hearts are awakened.

    Spirit of Service

The selfless service of the volunteers here is truly inspiring.
This is true yoga — when action is performed with dedication and service.

    As the Gita says:
“Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam” — excellence in action is yoga.

From Inner Peace to World Peace

The world is facing unrest, but peace does not come from outside.
It begins within the human heart.

Only when individuals find inner balance can the world find peace.

India: A Spiritual Guide to the World

This sacred place shows that India still holds the power to guide the world spiritually.
The Shri Ram Chandra Mission has presented a modern and scientific path of spirituality, guided by revered Daaji.

    Closing Message

In conclusion, I urge all of you to carry this divine experience into your lives.
The world does not need more words — it needs living examples.

Become that example. Spread the message of “One Humanity, One Heart.”

    Let us pray together:

May all be happy, may all be free from illness,
May all see auspiciousness, may none suffer.

    Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!
