09-09-2021:Governor inaugurated a bandstand made of eco bricks around the ‘ Weeping Cypress’ tree’ constructed by Eco Group.

The Governor of Uttarakhand, Smt. Baby Rani Maurya inaugurated a bandstand made of eco bricks around the ‘ Weeping Cypress’ tree’ constructed by Eco Group, Dehradun in the Raj Bhavan premises on the auspicious occasion of ‘Himalaya Day’ on Thursday.

In the construction of the said platform, solid 276 eco-bricks filled with plastic waste generated from the house of 74.100 kg were used. The Governor said that due to the plastic waste environment, rivers, streams, fertile land, atmosphere, wildlife and animals are being seriously harmed in various ways. We all have to discourage the use of plastic. This effort of Eco Group was highly appreciated by the Governor and she also conveyed best wishes for future sustainable plans. Governor also described other such constructions by ‘Eco Group’ as important in the direction of making Raj Bhavan premises ‘Zero Waste Zone’.

On the occasion, the President, Secretary and all the members of Eco Group were present along with the Additional Secretary to the Governor, Shri Jitendra Kumar Sonkar.
