08-03-2021 : Governor inaugurated Saree Bank on the occasion of International Women’s day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Governor Smt. Baby Rani Maurya inaugurated Saree Bank for needy women at Raj Bhawan on Monday and distributed sarees to the women present. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor Smt. Maurya said that women should not consider themselves to be inferior. Women themselves are power. They should maintain their self-respect. Their real empowerment is possible only through economic empowerment of women.Governor Smt. Maurya said that Saree Bank, starting today, would give saris to needy women by competent women. A saree bank will be created for all these sarees. Through this sari bank, needy women can take sari as per their requirement. Soon two-three sari banks will be opened in Dehradun.On this occasion Secretary Mr. Governor Mr. Brijesh Kumar Sant, Additional Secretary Mr. Jitendra Kumar Sonkar, Coordinator of Sari Bank Ms. Preeti and Ms. Shikha Vaidya and women from different settlements of Dehradun were present.
