    Under the “Ek Bharat–Shreshtha Bharat” programme, State Foundation Day celebrations of various states were enthusiastically observed at Lok Bhavan. As part of this initiative, the Foundation Days of Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya, falling during this week, were celebrated. Artists from these states presented vibrant cultural performances reflecting their rich traditions, folk customs, and cultural heritage, vividly showcasing the unity inherent in India’s diversity.

    Addressing the programme, the Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.), extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of the concerned states on their State Foundation Days. He said that the event was not merely a cultural programme, but an occasion to reflect upon the soul of India, its collective consciousness, cultural diversity, and shared future. He described Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya as strong pillars of India’s federal structure that reinforce the spirit of unity in diversity.

    The Governor stated that the goal of achieving a Developed India, Self-Reliant India, and Vishwa Guru by the year 2047 can only be realized by further strengthening unity, harmony, and the spirit of “Ek Bharat.” He emphasized that India’s greatest strength lies in its unity amid diversity, and that its civilization, culture, folk traditions, literature, dance, and art bind the nation together in a single thread.

    Highlighting Uttar Pradesh as a center of India’s cultural, historical, and spiritual consciousness, the Governor said that from the sacred lands of Ayodhya, Kashi, and Prayagraj to new dimensions of modern development, the state has consistently guided the nation. He praised Tripura for its rich tribal culture, folk traditions, and social harmony, calling it an exemplary model of unity in diversity.

    Describing Manipur as a land of courage, valour, and sporting excellence, the Governor said that the state has brought pride to India at national and international levels. Appreciating Meghalaya’s natural beauty, musical heritage, environmental consciousness, and sustainable development model, he said that the state presents an inspiring example of development in harmony with nature.

    Sharing experiences from his military career, the Governor said that he had the privilege of serving in Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, and Meghalaya, which he considers his good fortune. He emphasized that it is essential for every Indian to know, understand, and respect one another, as India’s diversity is its true beauty.

    The programme was attended by Cabinet Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj, MLA Smt. Savita Kapoor, Vice Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission Smt. Aparna Yadav, Secretary to the Governor Shri Ravinath Ram, Legal Advisor Shri Kaushal Kishore Shukla, Principal Secretary (Justice) Shri Amit Kumar Sirohi, Secretary (Protocol) Shri Vinod Kumar Suman, Secretary (Culture) Shri Yugal Kishore Pant, Additional Secretary to the Governor Smt. Reena Joshi, along with students from the participating states.
