A local Sikh delegation paid a courtesy call on Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd.) at Raj Bhawan on Tuesday. The delegation presented the Governor with a portrait of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on the occasion of the 350th year of the Guru’s martyrdom and offered heartfelt reverence to the divine legacy of the Guru tradition.
On this occasion, the unparalleled courage, supreme sacrifice, renunciation, humanitarian philosophy, and extraordinary contribution of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in the service of the nation were remembered with deep respect.
The Governor said that the Guru tradition is like a radiant source of light in Indian culture, embodying the highest values of service, compassion, duty, dedication, national consciousness, and humanity. He said that the teachings of the Sikh Gurus are timeless and continue to inspire the world towards the welfare of humanity.
