Holi Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm at Lok Bhavan

A vibrant Holi Milan programme was organised at Lok Bhavan on Wednesday on the auspicious occasion of Holi. The event was attended by the Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), and the Chief Minister, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami. Former Chief Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Cabinet Ministers Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat and Shri Ganesh Joshi, First Lady Smt. Gurmit Kaur, the Chief Minister’s spouse Smt. Geeta Dhami, Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan, Director General of Police Shri Deepam Seth, Secretary to the Governor Shri Ravinath Raman, along with a large number of eminent citizens, social workers, representatives of social organisations, and officials were also present.
On the occasion, people met the Governor and the Chief Minister and extended their warm Holi greetings. The celebration was marked by participants applying colours and gulal to one another, sharing festive greetings, and immersing themselves in the spirit of the festival.
The Governor conveyed his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to every Indian, particularly the citizens of Uttarakhand, on the occasion of Holi. He said that the festival symbolises the joy and happiness within us, which is a blessing of the Almighty. He highlighted that the most significant essence of the festival is harmony, where people come together in a spirit of love and affection.
The Governor further stated that colours represent unity in diversity, reflecting how the different colours created by the Almighty blend together to symbolise collective unity and togetherness. He added that the manner in which people celebrate festivals together conveys a powerful message of harmony to the world and to humanity.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami also extended his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Holi. He said that the festival symbolises India’s rich cultural heritage and provides an opportunity to further strengthen the spirit of brotherhood, harmony, and social unity. He expressed hope that the festival of colours would bring renewed energy, enthusiasm, and positivity into everyone’s lives and that Uttarakhand would continue to progress on the path of development, prosperity, and growth.
