29-07-2021:Governor holds in-depth discussion with officials of Punjab National Bank

Governor Smt Baby Rani Maurya gave direction to organize an awareness seminar on skill development and women empowerment at Rajbhawan Dehradun soon. All the assistant project directors of all districts, bank representatives, successful women in small businesses, women who want to start small businesses in rural areas would participate in this seminar. Challenges and problems of rural women entrepreneurs will be discussed in this seminar. Information regarding facilities being provided by the government and banks for self employment will be given in this seminar. Governor Smt Maurya gave direction to organize seminars on skill development and woman empowerment in every district of the state. Governor would participate in these seminars.

Governor Smt Baby Rani Maurya discussed the role of Punjab national bank in skill development and woman empowerment with the officials of PNB at Rajbhawan on Thursday.Governor said that banks can play major role in providing loans to the rural women easily.Financial literacy should be encouraged in rural areas. Governor suggested providing loans to rural women to develop home stay in hilly regions of the state easily. A call centre should be set up to provide information of home stay in the state for the tourists.She said that assistance should be taken from the corporate sector for the skill development and women empowerment in the state
