11.02.2021 : Governor visited the disaster affected area of Tapovan, Chamoli

Governor Smt. Baby Rani Maurya visited the disaster affected area of Tapovan, Chamoli on Thursday. She inspected the ongoing rescue and relief operations and took stock of the situation from the personnel working there. Governor Smt. Maurya has given directions to the officials to conduct the rescue operation speedily on a continuous basis. Safety of personnel working there must be ensured. Governor met the family members of missing people and assured them of every possible help. Governor has also directed the Redcross to provide necessary help in affected villages.

While talking to media Governor Smt. Maurya said that officials and employees of administration, police, NDRF, SDRF and ITBP are working with full commitment and efficiency. She expressed hope that the tunnel would open as soon as possible and necessary aid may be provided to the affected people. It is worth mentioning that Governor Smt. Maurya has been continuously taking updated information of Chamoli disaster.
