Lok Bhavan Dehradun 05 November, 2026

The Governor of Uttarakhand, Dr. Dhal Singh Bisen, has extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasions of Dhanteras, Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj.

The Governor said that Dhanteras is a sacred occasion dedicated to the worship of Lord Dhanvantari, the deity of health and well-being, and prayed for good health, happiness and prosperity in everyone’s life.

He observed that Diwali conveys the eternal message of moving from darkness to light, from falsehood to truth, and from unrighteousness to righteousness. He expressed his hope that, with the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha, every family is blessed with happiness, peace, prosperity and well-being.

The Governor further said that Govardhan Puja inspires us to protect and preserve nature, cattle wealth and the environment, while Bhai Dooj celebrates the unique bond of affection, trust and love between brothers and sisters.

He urged everyone to celebrate these auspicious festivals with love, harmony, compassion and a spirit of service, while contributing towards the progress and prosperity of the state and the nation.
