Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) today interacted with meritorious students from the Devprayag Assembly constituency who are embarking on a Bharat Darshan educational tour. The students met the Governor at Lok Bhavan, where he interacted with them and extended his best wishes for their bright future. The educational tour has been organised through the efforts of Devprayag MLA Shri Vinod Kandari. During the tour, the students will visit Rishikesh, Lucknow, Kanpur, Ayodhya and Roorkee.
The Governor said that a Bharat Darshan educational tour is not merely an opportunity to travel, but also a means to know and understand the country closely and learn new things. He encouraged the students to observe and understand their surroundings with curiosity during the journey and to incorporate their experiences into their lives. He said that when students see and experience firsthand what they have studied in books about history, culture, science, technology and democracy, the learning becomes far more meaningful and effective.
The Governor urged the students to recognise their talents and make continuous efforts to nurture and enhance them. He said that irrespective of the field they choose in life, they should strive for excellence. He encouraged them to keep learning something new and prepare themselves to adapt to the rapidly changing world. He also emphasised the importance of learning modern technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the present era, observing that the right use of technology can open new avenues of knowledge and opportunities.
Addressing the students, the Governor said, “Dream big and work hard to turn those dreams into reality. Do not allow your circumstances to become your limitations.” He said that even a student growing up in the hills of Devprayag can aspire to reach the country’s leading institutions. For this, he emphasised the importance of determination, consistent hard work and self-belief.
The Governor encouraged the students to make the Bharat Darshan educational tour an opportunity not merely for tourism, but for learning and broadening their perspective. He also encouraged them to document their experiences and share them with their schools and fellow students after returning. He said that the success of students becomes even more meaningful when their experiences and new ideas inspire other children to move forward and pursue their aspirations.
Devprayag MLA Shri Vinod Kandari, Vice Chairman of the Rural Engineering Services Advisory Committee Shri Jot Singh Bisht, along with the students and teachers accompanying the educational tour, were present on the occasion.
