On Friday, Governor of Uttarakhand Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) and Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a programme organised at the Police Lines in Dehradun on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami.
On the occasion, artists presented a series of vibrant cultural performances depicting the divine leelas of Lord Krishna and celebrating devotion to him. The Governor and the Chief Minister felicitated the artists who delivered outstanding performances by presenting them with mementoes.
Extending his greetings to everyone on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the Governor said that the festival provides an opportunity to imbibe the ideals of Lord Krishna’s life and his teachings. The life and divine leelas of Lord Krishna inspire us to embrace truth, love, sacrifice and harmony. His life and the message of the Bhagavad Gita inspire us to follow the path of truth, justice and righteousness while fulfilling our responsibilities towards society and the nation.
