    Governor Hears the Grievances of Ex-Servicemen and Citizens from Remote Areas at Jan Milan Programme

    Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) heard the grievances of ex-servicemen, their dependents, and citizens from remote areas of the state during the Jan Milan Programme held at Lok Bhavan on Friday. He directed the concerned officials to ensure the prompt and effective resolution of public grievances and emphasized that there should be no unnecessary delay in matters concerning public welfare.

    During the Jan Milan Programme, 14 people from the districts of Uttarkashi, Almora, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, Haridwar, and Dehradun presented their problems and suggestions before the Governor. The issues primarily included land-related matters, employment opportunities, assistance for village development works, and various individual and community-related concerns.

    The Governor heard all the cases seriously and stated that every matter would be resolved in accordance with the rules and within the stipulated timeframe. He directed the Grievance Redressal Officer to immediately forward the cases received to the respective District Magistrates and departmental officials and to ensure regular monitoring of their effective resolution.

    The Governor said that the Jan Milan Programmes organized periodically at Lok Bhavan are aimed at directly hearing the concerns of the general public, particularly ex-servicemen and their families, and taking sensitive and effective measures for their resolution.

    On the occasion, sportspersons who have achieved notable accomplishments in various fields also met the Governor. Para-athletes who won medals at the 2nd Asian Para Throwball Championship held in Malaysia met with him. Medal-winning athletes from the International Karate Championship held in Kathmandu also called on the Governor. Ms. Shalini Rana, who won a medal at the Ice Stock National Games under the Winter Games, also met the Governor. The Governor congratulated all the sportspersons on their achievements and wished them a bright future.

    During the programme, Dr. Ramesh Singh Pal, Dr. Kamal Kishore Duklan, and Dr. Harendra Chaudhary presented their self-authored books to the Governor. They briefed him about the subject matter and writing of their respective books. The Governor appreciated their literary efforts and extended his best wishes to them.
