    At home reception was hosted at Lok Bhavan on the occasion of Independence Day, with Governor of Uttarakhand Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, along with several dignitaries, in attendance.

    On the occasion, the Governor and the Chief Minister released the half-yearly magazine of Lok Bhavan Uttarakhand, Devbhoomi Samvad. Published by the Lok Bhavan Information Complex, the magazine brings together highlights of various important programmes and engagements of the Governor.

    The Governor and the Chief Minister also released the book The Governor: From Constitutional Guardian to Development Enabler, authored by Dr. Shalini Bahuguna, Prof. (Dr.) Arun Kumar and Ms. Riya Kaintura. The book explores the multifaceted role of the office of the Governor. Incorporating valuable suggestions from the Governor’s Legal Advisor, Mr. Kaushal Kishore Shukla, the book presents Uttarakhand as a distinctive example of constitutional leadership and public service.

    During the reception, the Governor and the Chief Minister honoured five distinguished officers and doctors for their outstanding contributions to the fields of medical and military service. The awardees included Dr. Yogendra Singh, Director of Cardiology at Max Hospital, Dehradun; Colonel Vikas Marwah, Senior Advisor at Army Research and Referral Hospital, Delhi; Colonel Aditya Srivastava of Uttarakhand Sub Area; Dr. Sudhanshu Singh, Consultant Cardiologist at Badri Datt Pandey Government District Hospital, Nainital; and Brigadier Prafull Mohan, Commandant of Military Hospital, Dehradun.

    On the occasion, the Assam Regimental Centre and Headquarters Uttarakhand Sub Area were also presented with the Governor’s Commendation Certificates in recognition of their commendable services.

    Former Chief Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Mr. Subodh Uniyal, Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, other dignitaries and senior administrative officers were also present at the reception.
