Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) received a courtesy call at Lok Bhavan on Saturday from Mr. Harish Chandra Joshi, Trustee of Swastivachanam Sanstha, along with Dr. Sunil Joshi and Dr. Jeevan Joshi, members of the organization.
During the meeting, the Governor held detailed discussions with the delegation on the preservation, promotion, and wider dissemination of Sanskrit, Yoga, and Ayurveda. On the occasion, the delegation also presented the Governor with a commemorative postage stamp dedicated to renowned Sanskrit scholar Acharya Dinesh Chandra Joshi.
The Governor said that Sanskrit is an invaluable heritage and an eternal source of knowledge. He noted that the language not only connects us with our cultural roots but also introduces us to the essence of India’s ancient knowledge tradition. He emphasized that Uttarakhand should play a leading role in the preservation and promotion of Sanskrit so that this rich language and its knowledge can reach not only all parts of India but also the global community.
The Governor further said that the present era offers immense opportunities to promote Sanskrit through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and modern technology. If these technologies are effectively utilized, Sanskrit literature, India’s knowledge traditions, and related subjects can be made accessible to a much wider global audience.
