Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) held a discussion with members of the Bharat Himalayan International Strategic Manch (BHISHM) think tank at Lok Bhavan on Friday. The meeting was attended by senior retired military officers and subject experts, including former Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan. Meaningful deliberations were held on current issues related to the national and global security landscape.
During the discussion, participants exchanged views on a range of important issues, including national security, strategic challenges, border management, and the evolving global security environment. Senior retired military officers and subject experts from the think tank shared their insights and recommendations, drawing on their extensive experience and in-depth research, to further strengthen India’s national security.
The Governor said that dialogue with experts on critical issues such as national security is highly valuable, as it helps broaden the policy perspective. Appreciating the experience and expertise of the think tank members, he noted that such discussions contribute significantly to strengthening the country’s security preparedness.
