First of all, I extend my heartfelt welcome to all of you to the grand closing ceremony of this prestigious “Governors Cup Golf Tournament” amidst the beautiful valleys of Lok Bhavan, Nainital.
The conclusion of the “Governors Cup Golf Tournament” is not merely the end of a sporting event, but a proud milestone in an inspiring celebration of discipline, excellence, sportsmanship, and national unity.
Over the last three days, your participation, remarkable enthusiasm, and exemplary sporting spirit have not only made this tournament a grand success, but have also transformed it into a memorable and vibrant celebration. Throughout these three days, all of you have displayed extraordinary discipline and concentration on this course. I extend my heartfelt best wishes to every player who participated in this competition.

Similarly, in life, when difficulties arise, success can only be achieved by remaining calm and focusing on the right target. Golf also teaches us that every distance in life is not covered merely by strength, but through the right direction, balanced vision, and patient effort.
When players from different states of the country come together on the same field with equal energy, equal respect, and a shared goal, the spirit of India’s “Unity in Diversity” truly comes alive. Sports are not merely about competition; they are one of the strongest mediums of national integration.
This “Governors Cup” too has emerged as a powerful platform for uniting the diverse cultures of the country into one thread. Players from different parts of India have presented a beautiful and vibrant picture of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.” Sports are the language that connects us all as one family, beyond boundaries and diversities.
At the same time, such events provide fresh momentum to sports tourism in Uttarakhand. Playing amidst these scenic valleys and the lush greenery of this magnificent golf course is in itself a reminder of our closeness to nature and our commitment to environmental conservation.
The sacred land of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is not only known for its natural beauty, but also for discipline, courage, and dedication. Its glorious military tradition and sporting spirit are both inspiring forces in nation-building.

This year’s “Governors Cup” truly became a celebration that connected generations. On one hand, we witnessed the inspiring enthusiasm of an experienced 81-year-old player, while on the other, the confidence and energy of a young 7-year-old golfer.
This itself proves that sports are not determined by age, but by passion, discipline, and resilience. This beautiful confluence of generations is the greatest success and inspiration of this “Governors Cup.”
I feel immense pride and happiness in sharing that a total of 179 golfers registered for this year’s competition. Today, we have witnessed one of the most beautiful and inspiring aspects of this sport.
The most inspiring feature of this tournament was the enthusiastic participation of players from every age group.
While 4 super veterans and 29 veteran-category players enhanced the dignity of the field with their experience and performance, 110 players from the general category and 9 women golfers impressed everyone with their exceptional skills. Most encouraging of all was the inspiring participation of 27 junior golfers, who represent the bright future of this sport.
I extend my special congratulations to all the golfers who achieved victory through outstanding performances in this tournament. Your trophies symbolize your hard work and unwavering dedication.
And to those players who could not secure the top positions this time, I would simply like to say — no effort on the sports field ever goes in vain. Here, one either wins, or gains valuable experience that becomes the foundation of future success.
Behind this grand and successful event lies the hard work of countless individuals who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. I wholeheartedly appreciate the efforts of the golf club management, referees, ground staff, local administration, and all volunteers. It is because of your dedication day and night that the smooth conduct of this historic three-day event became possible. You all deserve congratulations.

As you depart from this sacred land today, I am confident that you will not only carry your kits and memories with you, but also the positive energy of these valleys and the discipline learned through this sport.
In today’s fast-paced digital world, continue to keep sports as an integral part of your lives, because a healthy body and a peaceful mind make the greatest contribution to nation-building.
Before I conclude, I would like to say this — in the vast golf course of life, there will be obstacles, difficult paths, and moments when the target may seem far away. But if your confidence remains firm, your patience steady, and your goal clear, then the final goal of success will certainly be achieved.
