Hon’ble Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) was called on by a delegation of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Uttarakhand at Lok Bhawan on Friday. During the meeting, the Governor and representatives from the industry sector held detailed discussions on various issues related to the state’s development, investment, skill development, and inclusive growth.

During the interaction, the Governor said that the industrial sector is not only a creator of economic wealth, but also an important partner in nation-building, innovation, employment generation, and social transformation. He stated that industries would play a crucial role in transforming Uttarakhand into a developed, self-reliant, and inclusive state.

The Governor observed that the development journey of the state cannot be accomplished solely through government efforts and that strong collaboration between the government, industry, academia, and society is essential. He said that the private sector is not merely a supporting partner in the development process, but a “strategic force multiplier” that accelerates progress through investment, innovation, managerial capabilities, and technological expertise.

The Governor further stated that continuous dialogue among the government, industries, educational institutions, and the administration is necessary for the holistic development of the state. He said that in the upcoming meeting, representatives from industry, academia, and the administration would be brought together for detailed deliberations to formulate a concrete and practical roadmap for Uttarakhand’s development.

During the meeting, members of CII also presented various suggestions related to industrial development, skill enhancement, investment promotion, and employment generation before the Governor.
