Padma Shri Premchand Sharma Calls on Governor

Padma Shri Premchand Sharma called on Hon’ble Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) at Lok Bhawan on Monday.

During the meeting, Shri Sharma briefed the Governor about his initiatives in horticulture and organic farming. He shared that he has been motivating people through horticulture practices and working towards promoting reverse migration by encouraging organic farming in rural areas. He also highlighted his innovative effort to cultivate a variety of plants used in religious practices at a single location.

Shri Sharma emphasized the importance of cultivating black turmeric, noting its significant medicinal properties. He stated that farmers should be encouraged to adopt its cultivation and that an effective marketing system needs to be developed to enhance farmers’ income.

The Governor appreciated the efforts of Shri Premchand Sharma and said that there are immense opportunities in agriculture and horticulture. He emphasized that innovation, organic farming, and value addition can strengthen the economic condition of farmers. He described such initiatives as important for the overall development of the state.
