    Governor Participates in Dialogue on “Impact of AI on Education”

    Lok Bhavan Dehradun 17 April, 2026

    Hon’ble Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) participated as the Chief Guest in a dialogue programme on “Impact of AI on Education”, organized by the Education Department and Sampark Foundation at a hotel on Rajpur Road, Dehradun.

    On this occasion, the Governor stated that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a present-day reality that is rapidly transforming all sectors, including education. He emphasized that AI should not be viewed merely as a technology, but as a powerful tool that will shape the future.

    The Governor highlighted that the 21st century is the era of advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, metaverse, and quantum computing, and adopting these is the need of the hour. He stated that integrating these technologies will open new opportunities for students in Uttarakhand and prepare them for future challenges.

    He urged teachers to make students aware of emerging technologies and equip them with the skills to use them effectively. He expressed confidence that teachers and students in Uttarakhand will together bring about a new revolution in the field of education.

    The Governor further stated that AI can make education more inclusive, especially by enabling access to quality education for students in remote and mountainous regions. He also noted that AI has the potential to overcome language barriers and strengthen education in local languages.

    Appreciating the efforts of Vineet Nayar, Founder-Chairman of Sampark Foundation, the Governor said that the organization’s work in the field of education is commendable. He noted that by reaching millions of students and thousands of schools, the foundation has contributed significantly to bringing positive change in education.

    The programme was attended by Secretary Shri Ravinath Raman, Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Technical University Dr. Tripta Thakur, Chairman Dr. K. Rajeshwar Rao, Director of Secondary Education Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati, along with officials from the Education Department and teachers from various schools.
