On Tuesday, the Chairman of the Sixth State Finance Commission, Uttarakhand, N. Ravi Shankar, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), at Lok Bhavan and submitted the Commission’s report for the period 2026–2031. Members of the Commission, P.S. Jangpangi and Dr. M.C. Joshi, along with Additional Secretary Navneet Pandey, were also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, the Chairman highlighted key recommendations of the Commission, emphasizing the need for proper maintenance and systematic mapping of community assets. He also stressed the importance of convergence of schemes and resources, promoting coordination and cooperation, focusing on employment generation, and maximizing the use of technology in the current dynamic environment.

The Governor appreciated the work of the Commission and stated that after completion of all due procedures, the recommendations should be effectively communicated to public representatives and the general public. He emphasized that proper implementation of the Commission’s recommendations on the ground is essential to ensure that the intended benefits reach the people.
