    Governor Attends “Echoes of the Himalaya” Military Band Symphony at Garhi Cantt

    Military Band Symphony Resonates with Patriotic and Folk Melodies

    The Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), attended the “Echoes of the Himalaya” Military Band Symphony organised by Uttarakhand Sub Area at Garhi Cantt today. On the occasion, the Bengal Engineer Group Band, the Kumaon Regimental Centre Band, and the Garhwal Regimental Centre Band presented captivating and impressive performances, which were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.

    The bands performed melodious renditions of popular patriotic and folk compositions such as Bedu Pako Bara Masa, Teri Mitti Mein Mil Jaawan, Dil Diya Hai Jaan Bhi Denge Ae Watan Tere Liye, Deh Shiva Var Mohe, and O Desh Mere, filling the entire atmosphere with enthusiasm, pride, and a deep sense of patriotism.

    Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that military bands symbolise the glorious traditions, discipline, and regimental heritage of the Indian Army. He stated that military bands are not merely musical performances but also serve as an important medium for strengthening the morale of soldiers and reinforcing the spirit of patriotism.

    The Governor remarked that the title of the programme, “Echoes of the Himalaya,” is highly meaningful. He said that the Himalaya is not merely a mountain range but a symbol of patience, courage, resilience, and unwavering determination. Just as the Himalaya stands as a symbol of India’s protection, our soldiers remain steadfast guardians of the nation’s borders.

    He further stated that the Indian Army represents not only strength but also the highest traditions of discipline, dedication, and patriotism. Soldiers deployed on the borders ensure the nation’s security and also play a crucial role as humanitarian responders during times of disaster.

    Congratulating the Army officers, personnel, and organisers for the successful conduct of the programme, the Governor said that such events play an important role in connecting society with the rich traditions of the armed forces and their spirit of service to the nation.

    The programme was attended by the First Lady Smt. Gurmit Kaur; Deputy GOC Uttarakhand Sub Area Brigadier R. S. Thapa; Commandant Bengal Engineer Group, Roorkee Brigadier K. P. Singh; Commandant Kumaon Regimental Centre, Ranikhet Brigadier S. K. Yadav; Commandant Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre, Lansdowne Brigadier V. S. Negi; along with Army officers, personnel, and other distinguished attendees.
