Students of the Department of Media and Communication Studies, Doon University, paid a courtesy call on the Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), at Lok Bhavan today. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Surekha Dangwal, and Head of the Department of Media and Communication Studies, Prof. Rajesh Kumar, were also present on the occasion. The students had played a significant role in the publicity and coverage of the three-day Vasantotsav recently organised at Lok Bhavan.

During the interaction, the Governor asked the students about their experiences and the learnings they gained from the event. Appreciating their work, he said that the dedication, depth, and professional approach with which they covered the event were highly commendable. He also praised the students for their efforts in analysing and documenting the economic impact of the event and its broader implications for the local economy. The Governor presented mementoes to all the students in recognition of their contribution.

On the occasion, the Governor encouraged the youth and said that the greatest strength of Uttarakhand lies in its flowers and its happy people. He added that the students had demonstrated remarkable creativity and technical skills in their work during the event. The Governor remarked that the happiness of the people and their emotions are our true assets, which must be preserved for future generations, and appreciated the students for capturing these sentiments effectively.
