    13-01-2026 : Governor interacted with students under the youth interaction programme “Viksit Bharat 2047” held at Lok Bhavan.

    Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) on Tuesday interacted with students under the youth interaction programme “Viksit Bharat 2047” held at Lok Bhavan. On this occasion, students from various schools presented their views on the role of youth in building a Developed India by 2047. The students delivered their addresses sequentially, clearly reflecting the leadership qualities, vision, and confidence of young India.

    During the programme, the youth articulated their commitment and perspective towards Viksit Bharat 2047 in an impressive manner. The students stated that the dream of a developed India is not limited merely to economic growth, but also encompasses quality education, innovation, self-reliance, digital empowerment, environmental protection, social harmony, and the creation of a value-based society. Describing youth power as the strongest foundation for nation-building, they reaffirmed their resolve to contribute fully to the development of the nation.

    Addressing the gathering, the Governor appreciated the clarity of thought, maturity, and far-sighted vision demonstrated by the students. He said that the manner in which the students expressed their ideas clearly indicates that no force can stop India from becoming a developed nation and a global leader when driven by the strength of its youth. The Governor stated that he was particularly impressed by the students’ strong vision and well-defined roadmap for Viksit Bharat, which he termed as highly commendable.

    The Governor said that the youth are the hope of New India and the leaders of the future, and expressed confidence that they would certainly achieve the goals they have set for themselves. Motivating the students to strive for excellence in every sphere of life, he said that extra effort, sustained hard work, and unwavering determination are essential to achieve any major objective. He emphasized that continuing to move forward towards one’s goal, even when others give up, is the key to success.

    Calling upon the youth to dream big, the Governor urged them to work with complete dedication and sincerity to turn those dreams into reality. He stressed the importance of cultivating qualities such as strong willpower, self-discipline, and self-control. He encouraged the youth to be courageous, fearless, and virtuous, and to maintain a positive and sensitive outlook towards society. Concluding his address, the Governor extended his best wishes for the bright future of all students.

    Students and faculty members from Welham Girls’ School, Dehradun; Shikshankur – The Global School; The TonsBridge School; St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun; and St. George’s College, Mussoorie were present at the programme.
