24-12-2025 : Governor extends greetings and best wishes to the people of the State on Good Governance Day

Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Uttarakhand on the occasion of Good Governance Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India and Bharat Ratna late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Remembering him with deep reverence, the Governor paid a heartfelt tribute to the great statesman.

In his message issued on the eve of the occasion, the Governor said that the entire life of late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was dedicated to sacrifice, commitment, and service to the nation. He described him as an eloquent orator, a sensitive poet, a visionary statesman, and an efficient administrator. His thoughts, values, and leadership style, the Governor said, will continue to remain a source of inspiration for Indian democracy.

The Governor further stated that observing Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary as Good Governance Day provides an opportunity to reflect upon his ideals and administrative vision. He emphasized that good governance is the cornerstone of holistic national development, ensuring transparency, accountability, sensitivity, and effective administration.
