    20-12-2025 : Governor distributed monthly nutrition kits to 13 tuberculosis patients adopted under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme during a programme held at Lok Bhavan.

    Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) on Saturday distributed monthly nutrition kits to 13 tuberculosis patients adopted under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme during a programme held at Lok Bhavan. On the occasion, the Governor personally interacted with the patients, enquired about their well-being, and advised them to follow a nutritious diet and a balanced lifestyle during the course of treatment.

    So far, 70 tuberculosis patients adopted by the Governor have completely recovered and have been declared TB-free. Taking this meaningful initiative forward, the Governor adopted 13 more TB patients and provided them with monthly nutrition kits today. With this, a total of 83 TB patients have been adopted by the Governor in his capacity as a Ni-kshay Mitra.

    The Governor stated that the objective is to make the state tuberculosis-free. He emphasized that if every citizen comes forward to adopt at least one TB patient and supports their treatment and nutritional needs, significant progress can be achieved towards eliminating the disease.

    The Governor further said that the elimination of tuberculosis requires collective efforts from all sections of society. This campaign is a shared responsibility, and together, it can be successfully accomplished.

    Senior Medical Officer Dr. Mahavir Singh, Dr. A.K. Singh, and Dr. Ishita Arya were also present on the occasion.
