08-10-2025 : Governor attended the “Shaheed Samman Samaroh” as the chief guest, organized by the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) attended the “Shaheed Samman Samaroh” as the chief guest on Wednesday, organized by the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. On this occasion, he paid tribute to the brave martyrs and honored their families.
In his address at the event, the Governor said that this occasion is not just a ceremony, but a moment to express gratitude to those immortal sons who sacrificed their lives to protect the nation’s independence and pride. He said that the debt of the sacrifice of Mother India’s brave sons cannot be repaid; it is because of their valor that the country is safe and prosperous.
The Governor said that a soldier’s life is not limited to a uniform; rather, they are a living embodiment of discipline, sacrifice, and dedication. He said that when a soldier stands on the border, he has only one thought: “Nation First.” His priority is the protection of the motherland; this feeling keeps the nation safe.
The Governor said that as long as soldiers are stationed on the border, the countrymen can move forward on the path of development without any worry. He said that soldiers not only protect the borders but also are the guardians of the country’s progress and self-confidence. It is the duty of every citizen to respect soldiers, because “respecting soldiers is not just a formality, but a national duty.”
The Governor said that veterans are an invaluable asset of the nation, symbolizing discipline, leadership, and honesty. He commended the role of veterans in youth guidance, social service, cleanliness, environmental protection, and drug de-addiction campaigns.
Praising the Rashtriya Sainik Sansthan, the Governor said that it is not just an organization, but an ideology that embodies discipline, courage, and dedication. He described initiatives like “Shaheedon ki Aarti” as inspirational for future generations and said that this tradition will further strengthen the spirit of patriotism in society.
The Governor said that in the past decade, India has progressed towards self-reliance in the defense sector. He said, “Swadeshi not only provides economic independence, but it also symbolizes the restoration of national pride.”
He called upon the youth to make the country self-reliant and empowered by adopting new technologies, especially artificial intelligence (AI) and the startup culture.
President of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, Colonel T.P. Tyagi (Retd.), and other officials, along with a large number of members of the organization, were present on the occasion.
