01-10-2025 : Governor extends greetings on the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.

Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd.) extended his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.

In his message, the Governor said that Mahatma Gandhi’s entire life was dedicated to sacrifice, simplicity, and human values. His principles of truth, non-violence, and compassion not only laid the foundation of India’s freedom struggle but also opened a new path of morality and peace for the world. Even today, his teachings continue to guide humanity towards a better future.

Remembering the contribution of Shastri Ji, the Governor said that his honesty, simplicity, and unwavering commitment to the nation remain a source of inspiration for all. His call of “Jai Jawan – Jai Kisan” was not merely a slogan, but a mantra of India’s strength and self-reliance, which instilled pride and enthusiasm in every citizen.

The Governor urged the people of the state to imbibe the life values of these two great personalities and actively contribute towards the building of society and the nation.
