30-09-2025 : Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj calls on Governor.

Cabinet Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj paid a courtesy call on Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd.) at Raj Bhawan today. During the meeting, both engaged in an extensive discussion on various contemporary issues.

Special focus was laid on Uttarakhand’s traditions, tourism, and Ayurveda. Shri Satpal Maharaj informed the Governor that Uttarakhand’s traditional cuisines and grains hold significant medicinal value. In this regard, the Tourism Department is working on the concept of an “Ayurveda Food Thali,” which will not only highlight the state’s unique culinary culture but also help enhance immunity against various ailments.

He further apprised that to promote Uttarakhand’s uniqueness and spiritual destinations at national and international levels, a short movie and a high-quality coffee table book are being prepared. Additionally, there is a proposal to honor traditional vaidyas who have preserved the age-old knowledge of Ayurveda and medicinal herbs, as their contribution to society and health is invaluable.

The Governor appreciated these initiatives, stating that such efforts will not only preserve Uttarakhand’s culture and traditions but also strengthen the state’s distinctive identity on national and global platforms.
