    29-09-2025 : Governor Inaugurates International Seminar on Recent Advancements in Panchkarma 2025.

    Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd.) inaugurated the two-day International Seminar on “Recent Advancements in Panchkarma 2025” at the Rishikul campus of Uttarakhand Ayurved University, Haridwar, on Monday. Present on the occasion were Vice-Chancellor Prof. Arun Kumar Tripathi, Additional Secretary Shri Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Patanjali University Vice-Chancellor Acharya Balkrishna, Seminar Chair Prof. K. K. Sharma, along with noted Panchkarma experts, scientists, and researchers from across the country.

    In his address, the Governor said that at a time when the world faces lifestyle diseases, stress, and environmental challenges, this Panchkarma-focused conference is highly relevant. It not only examines India’s ancient medical heritage through a scientific lens but also works to elevate it to global standards. He noted that many of the world’s health problems can find solutions in Ayurveda and Panchkarma.

    The Governor highlighted that Panchkarma therapies are continuously evolving, with modern institutions integrating advanced technology and innovative formulations. Specialized protocols and contemporary equipment are enhancing the effectiveness of treatments. He emphasized the need for evidence-based research and clinical trials to gain international validation and called for building a “Make in India, Healing in India” brand identity. He invited people from around the world to visit India and embrace Uttarakhand as a premier clinical wellness destination.

    Additional Secretary (Ayush) Shri Vijay Kumar Jogdande underlined that linking Ayurveda with modern science will further strengthen its global relevance. Acharya Balkrishna stated that Ayurveda must be advanced with confidence, stressing the cultural and health benefits of fasting (Langhan) and the importance of pure food for a strong mind and action.

    Vice-Chancellor Prof. Arun Kumar Tripathi remarked that Panchkarma is the core of Ayurveda and that Uttarakhand holds immense potential in Panchkarma and wellness sectors. During the programme, a research compendium souvenir was released, and the Governor presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Prof. K. K. Sharma, Head of the Panchkarma Department, in recognition of his 37 years of distinguished service and accomplishments.
