16-09-2025 : Governor Participates in Valedictory Session of International Conference on “AI: Trust and Future”

Hon’ble Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) attended the valedictory session of the international conference “AI: Trust and Future” held at Dev Sanskriti University, Haridwar, on Tuesday.

In his address, the Governor said this historic conference, convened on the sacred soil of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, will help shape the future course of humanity. He noted that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer merely a subject of science and technology but is deeply connected with ethics, human rights, and social harmony.

The Governor emphasized that the coming era belongs to AI, calling it a key driver of development, prosperity, and well-being. AI, he said, holds limitless possibilities, with no fixed “teacher or disciple,” as everyone remains a continuous learner in this evolving field.

Highlighting AI’s expanding reach, he observed that there will soon be no sphere of life untouched by it. He underscored AI’s pivotal role in India’s aspiration to become a developed nation and a global leader by 2047.

Urging the youth to embrace AI’s potential, the Governor appealed to the “Amrit Peedhi” (Generation of Amrit Kaal) to use its power positively and creatively for the transformation of society, the nation, and humanity.

Commending Dev Sanskriti University for its global collaborations and innovative initiatives, the Governor described the conference as not only the first international event under the India AI Mission, but also a milestone in the history of humanity.

He expressed confidence that the “Haridwar Declaration” emerging from this sacred venue would serve not merely as a policy document but as a moral commitment, guiding the world to employ technology in alignment with humanity, justice, and spiritual values.

The conference was attended by AI experts and distinguished delegates from India and abroad.
