    Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) will complete four years in office on 15 September 2025. From the day he assumed charge, the Governor identified five key missions to guide the state’s development: reverse migration, women’s empowerment and girls’ education, artificial intelligence and technology, organic and natural farming, and wellness.

    Transforming Higher Education

    One University, One Research: All state and five private universities were directed to present focused research papers on themes of socio-economic development. Reports have been submitted and are moving toward on-ground implementation.

    Uttarakhand College Affiliation Portal: A new digital portal has streamlined and made transparent the affiliation process for colleges across five state universities.

    Transparent Vice-Chancellor Selection: Video-recorded interactions and meetings now ensure accountability in appointments and governance.

    University Connect & UniSangam Apps: These platforms enable public and private universities to share achievements, best practices, research, and innovations with each other and Raj Bhawan.

    Regular Engagement with Private Universities: For the first time, structured meetings have been held to align private institutions with state development goals.

    Technology-Driven Governance

    AI Automation at Raj Bhawan: Digital dashboards, e-office systems, e-passes, and library management have created a paperless, efficient administration.

    Virtual Tour: Citizens can now explore Raj Bhawan’s bonsai garden, Nakshatra Vatika, Rajprajneshwar Mahadev Temple, Aarogyadham, Rajlakshmi Gaushala, and library online.

    Inventory Management: Barcode-based systems cover assets at both Dehradun and Nainital Raj Bhawans.

    Innovative Chatbots:

    Maitri for Raj Bhawan programmes and updates.

    Gargi Nari Shakti: to provide women with legal guidance, career counseling, financial literacy, and health resources.

    Eternal Guru: to share Gurbani teachings globally, developed with Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust.

    Char Dham Yatra Dashboard: Real-time monitoring ensures seamless coordination and safety for pilgrims.

    Social Outreach and Public Engagement

    Veterans’ Grievance Redressal: A dedicated officer addresses issues of ex-servicemen and their families; regular “Janata Milan” hearings are held by the Governor himself.

    Central Institution Coordination: The Governor has held two rounds of meetings with heads of over 80 central institutions in the state.

    District and Vibrant Village Visits: He has toured every district and 30 of the 51 identified Vibrant Villages to engage directly with citizens.

    Health and Community Initiatives

    TB Mukt Bharat Leadership: Over 10,000 “Nikshay Mitras” have supported TB patients under his guidance; the Governor personally mentors 67 patients.

    Girls’ Self-Defence & Computer Training Centre: Established inside Raj Bhawan to empower resident girls with safety skills and digital education.

    Awareness Seminars: Covering TB, arthritis, Ayurveda, mental health, breast cancer, and financial literacy.

    Family Meet Programme: A biannual event where Raj Bhawan staff and families interact directly with the Governor.

    Wellness & Green Initiatives

    Aarogyadham Centre: Offers Panchakarma, Marma therapy, and physiotherapy, combining traditional and modern practices.

    Green Raj Bhawan: Rainwater harvesting conserves over 200 kilolitres annually; expansive planting initiatives promote water conservation awareness.

    Nakshatra Vatika & Bonsai Garden: A spiritual and ecological space with 27 plants aligned to lunar constellations and a collection of 500+ bonsai.

    Rajlakshmi Gaushala: Highlights the cultural and ecological importance of indigenous cows.

    Governor Singh’s four-year tenure reflects a blend of technological innovation, educational reform, environmental stewardship, and citizen-centric governance, reinforcing Uttarakhand’s path toward sustainable and inclusive growth.
