31-08-2025:Governor of Uttarakhand Highlights Women Empowerment, Youth Potential, Education, and Cultural Heritage at “Main Uttarakhand Hoon” Conclave

The Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd), participated in the “Main Uttarakhand Hoon” Conclave organized by OHO Radio in Dehradun on Sunday. On this occasion, he shared his views on women empowerment, youth leadership, education, research, and the state’s rich cultural heritage.

The Governor said that the strength, resilience, and talent of Uttarakhand’s women and daughters have always guided the state towards new directions. “I feel proud that our daughters are contributing not only to the progress of Uttarakhand but also to the development of the entire nation. I am confident that they will continue to lead Uttarakhand to greater heights in the future,” he remarked.

Speaking about the state’s unique resources, the Governor noted that Uttarakhand, blessed by nature, holds immense potential in yoga, Ayurveda, honey, aroma, and wellness. He emphasized the responsibility of transforming these gifts into economic opportunities, which would not only strengthen livelihoods but also give Uttarakhand global recognition.

Underscoring the role of education and research, the Governor highlighted that Dehradun and Uttarakhand have emerged as leading education hubs, attracting students from across India and abroad. He stressed the need to nurture a culture of research and innovation to enable new discoveries and ideas that could drive both state and national growth.

Addressing the youth, he urged them to stay ahead by learning and adopting emerging technologies. “This is the era of Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, and the Metaverse. Mastery of these technologies will empower our youth to make significant contributions to India’s progress,” he said.

The Governor also spoke about the spiritual identity of Uttarakhand as the global Yoga Bhoomi. He said that the fusion of Yoga and Ayurveda has the potential to bring about a health revolution. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, we all witnessed how Yoga and Ayurveda served humanity. Our spiritual heritage has always shown the way to peace, balance, and awareness, and we must continue to strengthen it,” he added.

He further said that the pride and recognition Uttarakhand has earned through hosting the National Games, the G-20 Summit, the Global Investors Summit, and the Disaster Management Conference this year reflects the state’s growing prominence at the national and international stage.
