    03-08-2023 : Vice-Chancellor of Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technological University, Prof. Omkar Singh called on the Governor.

    Having completed one year, Vice-Chancellor of Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technological University Prof. Onkar Singh met Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd) on Thursday. He gave a detailed presentation on the important achievements and activities of the university in the past year.

    Vice Chancellor Prof. Omkar Singh spoke of the efforts made towards digitizing the university, to bring transparency and timeliness in the examination system. In order to keep the question papers free from the possibilities of leakage, examination centers have been given a password protection system. Digitally inspecting the evaluated answerbooks before the preparation of results is another feature recently added.

    He further added that apart from making the educational programs quality-oriented, the Attendance Management System has been implemented to ensure proper attendance of the students in all the institutions. By this feature, the daily attendance of the students are monitored through the web portal. And this is accessible to the students themselves, their guardians, the head of the institution and the university. All the stakeholders can observe the attendance and take corrective action if so required.

    By introducing B.Tech in the field of cyber security, the university has started setting up a “Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security” as well. It has taken a strong initiative in the field of military education by conducting PG Diploma in Military Studies and Defense Management,in collaboration with IMA. An important addition has been of two sustainable development goals in all the institutions. Through these, the university has attempted to make a significant contribution at a global level.

    The Vice-Chancellor also briefed, that from the academic session 2022-23 itself, credit-based new ordinance and curriculum have been implemented in the university by revising all its courses according to the National Education Policy-2020. He informed that the technical institute in Uttarkashi has recently introduced B.Tech in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

    While praising the Vice-Chancellor and the University for their achievements, the Governor has urged other universities to adopt these best practices. He appreciated Vice Chancellor Prof. Omkar Singh and his team.
