He also paid homage to the brave martyrs who laid down their lives for the the country. The Governor said that this year the state of Uttarakhand has completed 21 years of its establishment. Today Uttarakhand has become completely youth. Certainly the state of Uttarakhand has made a lot of progress in these twenty one years, but still many challenges remain before us. We all have to face these challenges together. Progress and prosperity of Uttarakhand is possible with the collective participation of women, youth, farmers and all communities here.

Governor Shri Gurmeet Singh said that Sainik Dham Uttarakhand is the holy land of brave soldiers. Many efforts have been made by the state government for the welfare of soldiers and ex-servicemen. Sainya Dham is being built in Dehradun as Pancham Dham. It is a shared honor of every soldier. The state also has a large number of ex-servicemen. Ex-servicemen can play an important role in the development of the state. They can pass on the benefit of their knowledge, experience and training to the society and the state. Governor Shri Gurmit Singh said that women have played an important role in the construction of Uttarakhand. Even today, women are the backbone of the economic and social structure in the hilly areas of the state. Women’s education, health and employment should be our priority. Women are becoming financially empowered through women self-help groups in the state. By promoting women enterprises based on local products in the state, the twin goal of women empowerment and protection of local products will be achieved. We have to develop the leadership capacity of women in this direction. Governor Shri Gurmit Singh said that the local products of Uttarakhand can become the basis of economic prosperity of the state. The goals of economic self-reliance, self-employment and reverse migration can be achieved by promoting enterprises based on local products. For the success of the Prime Minister’s “Vocal for Local” mantra, it is necessary to preserve the local products, traditional crops, food grains and handicrafts of the state. It is necessary to make available the local products to the international level market.

The goal of reverse migration can be achieved through more employment and self-employment opportunities within the state itself. Governor Shri Gurmit Singh said that quality and research work is being promoted in higher education. Everyone should get quality higher education. The challenges faced in the field of higher education will have to be found through coordinated efforts. Universities have to work for modernization, transformation, artificial intelligence, digitization and new technology.

Governor Shri Gurmit Singh said that along with the government, volunteers, social organizations, NGOs, social workers and individual efforts have an important role in the development and progress of the state. We have to ensure everyone’s participation in the development process of the state.
