The Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.), was paid a courtesy visit today at Lok Bhavan by the Chairman of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC), Dr. Ravi Datt Godiyal, along with other Members of the Commission. During the meeting, the Chairman presented the Annual Report of the Commission to the Governor and briefed him in detail about the Commission’s activities and functioning.
The Governor appreciated the innovative initiatives undertaken by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission and emphasized that greater use of modern technology should be made in its operations. He stressed that the Commission must consistently uphold the highest standards of transparency, fairness, and accountability.
The Governor suggested that a book documenting the Commission’s 25 years of experiences, challenges, and achievements should be published, which would serve as a valuable reference for further strengthening its functioning. He also advised studying best practices adopted by Public Service Commissions in other states and implementing them wherever suitable.
On this occasion, the Chairman informed that during the financial year 2025, the Commission recommended the selection of a total of 3,149 candidates to the Government through various examinations conducted by the Commission. He further stated that work is underway to introduce a digital evaluation system for answer scripts, aimed at making the evaluation process more accurate, transparent, and efficient.
With a view to enhancing convenience for candidates, the Commission is also developing a mobile application through which all examination-related information issued by the Commission will be made directly accessible. Additionally, a new system is being developed to enable candidates to view their marks by logging into the Commission’s official website.
Members of the Public Service Commission Shri Anil Kumar Rana, Smt. Nandi Raju Srivastava, Dr. Richa Gaur, Secretary Shri Ashok Kumar Pandey, Controller of Examinations Shri Jayvardhan Sharma, and Administrative Officer Shri Sunil Bhatt were present on the occasion.
