Governor Visits Art Gallery and Photo Exhibition at Vasantotsav
Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) visited the Art Gallery and Photo Exhibition organised as part of the Vasantotsav at Lok Bhavan on Saturday. The three-day exhibition featured a wide range of paintings by artists on diverse themes, along with captivating photographs showcasing natural beauty, wildlife, and other subjects.
The Governor interacted with artists and photographers, appreciated their talent, and encouraged them by purchasing several paintings.
Governor Visits Self-Help Group and Startup Stalls
The Governor also visited stalls set up by women self-help groups displaying traditional food items, which witnessed significant public interest. He toured stalls set up by non-governmental organisations and self-help groups associated with horticulture and obtained information about their products. He encouraged the participants by purchasing items from various stalls.
Appreciating the startup stalls managed by women self-help groups and young women entrepreneurs, the Governor said that such initiatives promote local products and strengthen self-employment.
Vasantotsav Reflects the Spirit of Healing and Well-Being
On the second day of the three-day Vasantotsav, the Governor visited the venue and encouraged the participants. He stated that the core spirit of the festival is centred on “Healing and Well-Being,” which is clearly reflected in the environment of the event.
The Governor also visited the meditation centre and participated in “Floral Meditation,” experiencing its positive impact. He said that proximity to flowers and creativity naturally promotes mental and physical healing. He appreciated the yoga centre and noted that it effectively highlights various dimensions of health improvement through flowers.
Large Public Participation Marks Second Day of Festival
A large number of visitors attended the Vasantotsav on its second day, exploring the flower exhibition and purchasing products from various stalls.
A theatrical performance titled “Chakravyuh” presented by the Kedargathi Manchan Samiti of Rudraprayag was a major attraction of the day. The artists captivated the audience with their powerful performances and impactful dialogue.
On this occasion, the Uttarakhand Horticulture Board also organised a buyer-seller meet to facilitate coordination between flower growers and buyers, helping improve market access for producers.
The Vasantotsav continues to showcase a vibrant convergence of art, nature, health, and self-employment, making it a major attraction for the general public.
