Cultural Evening Organised at Lok Bhavan as Part of Vasantotsav-2026

Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) inaugurated the Cultural Evening organised on the second day of Vasantotsav-2026 at Lok Bhavan on Saturday by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The programme showcased the rich folk traditions of Uttarakhand, featuring captivating performances of Kumaoni folk dance Chanchari, Jaunsari folk dance Harul, Garhwali folk dance Bajuband, Tharu folk dance, and Kumaoni Holi dance, which deeply impressed the audience. The Anant Gopal Sangeet Manch Samiti, Dehradun, also presented a musical performance on the occasion.

The folk artists, adorned in traditional attire and performing with vibrant energy, brought the cultural evening to life. The programme beautifully reflected the State’s folk traditions, cultural heritage, and diversity, and was widely appreciated by the audience.

The First Lady, Smt. Gurmit Kaur; Secretary to the Governor, Shri Ravinath Raman; Secretary, Culture, Shri Yugal Kishore Pant; Additional Secretary to the Governor, Smt. Reena Joshi; Director General of Police, Uttarakhand, Shri Deepam Seth; Director, Horticulture, Shri S. L. Semwal; and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
