27-08-2025 : Governor releases book “First Forever” on the life of ICFAI University founder and educationist Shri N. J. Yasaswy.

Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd.) released the book “First Forever”, based on the life and contributions of ICFAI University’s founder and eminent educationist Shri N. J. Yasaswy, at Raj Bhawan, Dehradun on Wednesday. The book has been authored by Shri V. Pattabhi Ram and Shri Sudhakar Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that “First Forever” is not just a biography, but a living document of Shri N. J. Yasaswy’s vision and work in the field of education. He noted that Shri Yasaswy established outstanding institutions in diverse disciplines such as law, technology, teacher education, pharmaceutical sciences, arts and culture, spreading the light of knowledge from the valleys of the Himalayas to the remotest corners of the Northeast.
The Governor emphasised that a biography is not merely the story of one individual’s life, but also reflects the spirit, challenges, and ethos of an era. He said that documenting the struggles and contributions of founders preserves a treasure of inspiration for future generations, reminding us that institutions are not built merely with bricks and mortar, but with vision, values, and dedication.
Highlighting the role of education in achieving Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the Governor said that education will be the strongest pillar of self-reliance, global competitiveness, and cultural preservation. He underlined that universities should go beyond imparting knowledge and should serve as torchbearers of nation-building.
The event was attended by Legal Advisor to the Governor Shri Kaushal Kishore Shukla, Additional Secretary Smt. Reena Joshi, ICFAI University Chairperson Smt. Shobharani Yasaswy, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ram Karan, Registrar Prof. R. C. Ramola, Dr. Meena Bhandari, along with faculty members and students of the university.
