    Governor Visits Pithoragarh, Reviews Development Schemes and Inspects Stalls

    The Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), arrived in Pithoragarh on a one-day visit. He was received at Naini-Saini Airport by District Magistrate Ashish Kumar Bhatgain, who welcomed him with a bouquet. Superintendent of Police Akshay Konde, Additional District Magistrate Yogendra Singh, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jitendra Verma also extended their welcome.

    The Governor was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour by the Police Department. He then visited stalls set up at the airport premises by the Rural Development Department, Tourism Department, District Industries Centre, and “House of Himalayas,” among others. During his visit, he reviewed local products, self-employment initiatives, and the implementation of various government schemes.

    The Governor appreciated the packaging of the products and expressed satisfaction over the increasing income of women. He encouraged officials and self-help groups to further enhance product quality and suggested expanding the use of digital platforms to access wider markets.

    On the occasion, the Governor also interacted with officials from various departments and engaged with children present at the venue. He inquired about their aspirations and motivated them to pursue their goals with dedication and hard work, extending his blessings.

    Subsequently, the Governor reviewed various development schemes being implemented in the district. He emphasized the need to ensure timely and effective delivery of welfare schemes to eligible beneficiaries.

    The Governor stated that effective and transparent implementation of schemes is essential for promoting holistic development and self-reliance in rural areas.
