    Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh said that every citizen must read, understand and follow the fundamental duties mentioned in Article 51A of the Constitution. Youth should propagate fundamental duties through social media and mass media. The balance between rights and duties is extremely important. The Governor said that the youth studying law should give top priority to the nation, society and public interest in their legal field in future. In case of any doubt, the Constitution of India is our biggest guide.

    Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) released a replicate of the Indian Constitution at Siddhartha Law College on the occasion of Constitution Day on Friday. The Governor said that in the Constitution of India, the Ekam Mantra of Guru Nanak Dev ji in the thread of unity and the basic mantra of Guru Gobind Singh ji’s Deh Shiva var mohe, Subh Karman Te Kahoon Na Taro is also enshrined. Addressing the program, Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) said that every word, every comma, every full stop, every page of the holy book of the Constitution gives knowledge of the depth of our civilization, culture and history. The passion of Indianness lies in the Preamble of the Constitution. The introduction transforms us Indians into WE from the feeling of I , there is a different enthusiasm in it. Behind the making of the Indian Constitution is the tireless hard work, dedication and dedication of the great people. It is indeed a holy book. The Constitution has united us. Connected us with each other. It has freed us from all inequalities of religion, caste, language and region. Every word, every comma, every full stop is important in our constitution. All citizens must study the Constitution. Awareness about the Constitution should be increased among the people through mass media and social media. The solution to many social problems is contained in the Indian Constitution. Children should be made aware of the Indian Constitution from the time of primary education.

    Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) said that Constitution Day is an important occasion to keep alive the resolution to show true faith, loyalty and commitment to the Constitution of India. Due to the extraordinary talent, hard work and great ideas of Dr. Ambedkar, the strong structure of a public welfare constitution was made possible.

    This sacred constitution of India, gives us the confidence in our citizens, and provides adequate immunities to citizens.
