On the occasion of the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas, the First Lady of Uttarakhand, Mrs. Gurmeet Kaur, attended the closing ceremony of the three-day multi-specialty women’s health camp, “Dharitri”, organized at the Military Hospital, Dehradun.
Mrs. Kaur interacted with the women attending the health camp and enquired about their well-being. She also met with specialist doctors to learn about the healthcare services, diagnostic tests, and treatment facilities being provided at the camp. She appreciated the quality of medical care and services extended to the women.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that women’s health is not merely a personal matter but is closely linked to the strength and future of families, society, and the nation. She noted that the camp went beyond routine health check-ups by serving as an effective platform to promote health awareness, build confidence, and empower women.
Mrs. Gurmeet Kaur emphasized that when a woman is healthy, the entire family becomes stronger, and strong families form the foundation of a robust society and a developed nation. She observed that women often neglect their own health while fulfilling family responsibilities, whereas taking care of their health is an important responsibility towards both their families and society. She urged women to undergo regular health check-ups, maintain a balanced diet, exercise regularly, and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
She further stated that timely screening and disease prevention are more effective than treatment. She expressed satisfaction that nearly 2,000 women underwent health check-ups during the three-day camp, adding that this figure represents not just a number, but the promise of healthier and more aware families.
Congratulating all the doctors, volunteers, and supporters associated with this noble initiative, Mrs. Gurmeet Kaur expressed hope that such preventive healthcare-based campaigns would continue to be organized regularly in the future.
