25-08-2025 : Governor on visited the disaster-affected areas of Dharali and Mukhba in Uttarkashi district.

Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd.) on Monday visited the disaster-affected areas of Dharali and Mukhba in Uttarkashi district, where he met with the affected families and reviewed the ongoing relief and safety measures on the ground.

At Mukhba, the Governor was briefed in detail about the progress of disaster management, relief, and safety operations. He interacted with officials from the District Administration, Army, NDRF, SDRF, and other security agencies to assess the measures being undertaken.

The Governor assured the displaced families from Dharali, who are currently in Mukhba, of all possible assistance and support. He emphasized that in this hour of crisis, the State Government and the entire administrative machinery stand firmly with them. He further directed officials to prepare a comprehensive and long-term rehabilitation plan to ensure that affected families can return to normal life at the earliest.

The Governor appreciated the close coordination among the District Administration, Army, NDRF, SDRF, and other agencies working tirelessly in the affected areas. He especially commended the soldiers of the 14 Rajputana Regiment, who, despite being victims of the disaster themselves, played an active role in relief and rescue operations. Describing their service as a true example of humanity, courage, and dedication, the Governor said their efforts will inspire many.
