25-07-2023: On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Governor paid tribute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the country.

On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Gurmit Singh  paid tribute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the country.

In his message issued on the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Governor said that during the Kargil War, the Indian Army displayed indomitable courage, valor and strategic skill. In this victory campaign, many bravehearts of the Indian Army sacrificed their lives for the country, including many brave soldiers of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. He said that the army of India has always increased the pride of the country with its bravery and might, on which we all are proud.

The Governor said that Shaurya Diwas is also a day to express gratitude towards the brave soldiers posted on the borders for the security of the country. The borders of the nation are safe only because of the sacrifice and sacrifice of these brave soldiers.
