The Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), on Wednesday, along with his family, performed the traditional worship of young girls symbolizing Goddess Durga on the auspicious occasion of Durga Ashtami during Chaitra Navratri at Lok Bhavan, following proper rituals.

On this occasion, the Governor stated that the festival of Chaitra Navratri is not limited to fasting and rituals alone, but also represents respect for women empowerment and reverence towards young girls.

The Governor extended his best wishes to the people of the state, wishing them happiness, prosperity, and good health on this auspicious occasion.
