24-06-2026:Address of Hon’ble Governor at the ‘Parivar Milan Programme’ organized at Lok Bhavan, Nainital
Jai Hind!
All officers and employees of the Lok Bhavan family, their respected family members, and all my dear colleagues present here!
Today’s occasion is extremely special for me and very close to my heart. This Parivar Milan programme is not merely an annual gathering; rather, it is a celebration of the warmth of our relationships, mutual trust, cooperation, and our unity as one family.
First of all, I extend my heartfelt welcome and greetings to every member of the Lok Bhavan family and their family members. I would especially like to express my gratitude to the families, because behind the success of any institution lies the dedication of its employees, and behind that dedication lies the sacrifice, patience, and support of their families. Without your support, our officers and staff would not be able to discharge their responsibilities effectively.
Friends,
I have always believed that every officer and employee working at Lok Bhavan is not merely a member of staff, but an integral part of this large family. A family is not built merely by working together; it is built by caring for one another, sharing joys and sorrows, and becoming partners in each other’s progress.
I have always tried to create an environment in Lok Bhavan where every individual feels respected, valued, and a sense of belonging. The problem of any member of this family is my own problem, and resolving it remains among my priorities. It is this spirit that takes us beyond being an institution and makes us a strong family.
Colleagues,
Lok Bhavan is not merely a building; it is a symbol of the dignity, tradition, culture, and excellent administrative values of Uttarakhand. Its historical legacy, natural beauty, and institutional prestige are our shared heritage. Preserving this heritage and enriching it further is our collective responsibility.
I am pleased that, as in previous years, this year too we all came together to successfully organize several important programmes. Among them, the Governor’s Cup Golf Tournament deserves special mention. It recorded the highest participation to date, which reflects its growing popularity and the excellent management of our team. The success of this event was made possible by the tireless hard work and dedication of all of you.
Similarly, the programme “Ek Shaam Sainikon Ke Naam” provided us an opportunity to express our gratitude to society and to the families of soldiers. This was not merely an event, but a symbol of the nation’s tribute to those brave souls who dedicated everything for the defense of the motherland.
I feel particularly satisfied that this year we dedicated both the Governor’s Cup Golf Tournament and “Ek Shaam Sainikon Ke Naam” to the sacred memory of Late Major General Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri Ji. His life was a remarkable example of duty, service to the nation, leadership, and public service. His ideals will continue to inspire us forever.
Dear Colleagues,
As in previous years, this year too several infrastructure improvement works have been undertaken at Lok Bhavan as required, and further works are also in progress. Our effort is to ensure that the historical dignity of Lok Bhavan remains intact while facilities continue to be developed in line with modern requirements.
At the same time, we have paid special attention to the preservation of its natural beauty and environmental heritage. The identity of Lok Bhavan is not defined only by its buildings, but also by its greenery, biodiversity, clean environment, and natural beauty. Every tree, every plant, and every sound of nature here is part of our heritage.
Friends,
The spiritual atmosphere of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has always attracted me deeply. Its mountain ranges, rivers, forests, and places of pilgrimage are not merely centers of tourism, but sources of spiritual energy and life values.
As every year, this year too I had the opportunity to pay obeisance at Jageshwar Dham, Kakrighat, Maa Naina Devi Temple, Kainchi Dham, and Gurudwara Shri Singh Sabha. Recently, I also had the privilege of visiting Hanumangarhi and receiving blessings there.
In addition, this year I was fortunate to have darshan at the sacred Vridha Jageshwar and Dandeshwar Mahadev as well. The spiritual atmosphere of these places touches the heart deeply.
Whenever I visit these sacred places, their divinity, peace, and positive energy provide renewed strength to the mind. Amid the busyness of life, such moments become a source of self-reflection and inner strength. I believe that this very spiritual consciousness of Uttarakhand inspires all of us to become even more devoted to our duties.
Colleagues,
India today has entered the Amrit Kaal. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister, the resolve of Viksit Bharat 2047 stands before us. The fulfillment of this national resolve will not come only through major decisions, but through the honest efforts, sense of duty, and nation-first spirit of every individual.
Every employee of Lok Bhavan, regardless of how small or large their responsibility may be, is an important participant in this journey of nation-building. When we consider our work not merely as a job but as a medium of service to the nation, our contribution multiplies manifold.
I often say that excellence is not an event, but a continuous process. We must strive every day to improve ourselves. Discipline, punctuality, honesty, sensitivity, and an excellent work culture are values that make any institution distinguished. I am pleased that the Lok Bhavan family is making continuous efforts to embody these values in its conduct.
I especially congratulate those employees who have rendered their services with dedication and commitment for many years. Your hard work and steadfastness have played an important role in taking this institution to new heights.
Dear Colleagues,
In Indian culture, the family is regarded not merely as a social unit, but as the first school of values and संस्कार. It is within the family that we learn cooperation, sensitivity, discipline, respect, and the sense of duty. These very values are later reflected in our workplace and in society.
Therefore, I urge all of you to instill in your children the values of patriotism, environmental protection, discipline, service, and respect for Indian culture. These are the values that will shape strong citizens for a developed India.
In conclusion, I express my heartfelt gratitude to every member of the Lok Bhavan family and their family members. It is because of your support, hard work, loyalty, and dedication that together we are able to take the dignity and excellence of Lok Bhavan to new heights.
I pray to God that all of you remain healthy and happy, that your families are blessed with happiness, peace, and prosperity, and that we all continue to move forward with the spirit of one family.
My heartfelt शुभकामनाएँ to all of you.
Thank you very much.
Jai Hind.
Jai Uttarakhand.
