23-09-2025 : Governor Inaugurates ‘Shiksha Ki Baat’ Programme.
Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd.) inaugurated the Education Department’s innovative initiative “Shiksha Ki Baat” at Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidyalaya, Dehradun, on Tuesday. The programme aims to provide students across Uttarakhand’s diverse geographic and social landscapes with an opportunity to engage directly with inspiring personalities.
“Shiksha Ki Baat” will be held during the last week of every month, featuring educationists, litterateurs, social workers, scientists, entrepreneurs, defence personnel, and other distinguished figures. A live broadcast from the central virtual studio at Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidyalaya will connect more than 1,300 schools simultaneously.
During the inaugural session, the Governor interacted with students from remote areas such as Chamoli, Tehri, and Pithoragarh, addressing their career-related questions and sharing success strategies drawn from his own experiences.
Calling the programme a forward-looking and commendable step, the Governor highlighted the importance of using technology to create equal opportunities in education. He urged students to dream big, commit to their goals, and put in extra effort to achieve success, emphasizing that their vision and contribution are vital for building a developed India.
Governor appealed to students to respect their parents, preserve their cultural heritage and traditions, fulfill their duties toward the nation, and stay away from substance abuse. He also encouraged teachers to guide students in overcoming such challenges.
Praising the Education Department’s technological innovations, he said initiatives like this boost students’ confidence and help them hone their talents for excellence in life.
Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat thanked the Governor and announced that each month a distinguished guest will be invited to inspire and guide the students, with the Chief Minister slated for the next session.
Present on the occasion were Secretary, School Education, Ravinath Raman; Director General of Education Deepti Singh; Director of Primary Education Ajay Naudiyal; SCERT Director Bandana Garbyal; VEPL General Manager Mansi Sharma; Project Coordinators Nikhil Rana, Akash Bhadana, and Ravi Jha, along with other senior officials of the Education Department.
