    21-12-2021:Uttarakhand Governor reached Banbasa in Champawat district.

    Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) Gurmit Singh reached Banbasa in Champawat district on Tuesday. The Governor was welcomed by the District Magistrate Shri Vineet Tomar, Additional District Magistrate Shri Shivcharan Dwivedi, SDM Shri Himanshu Kafaltia and other officials along with the police officers.

    After that the Governor reached the Shiva temple of Banbasa. Governor reached the rest house of NHPC where he held a meeting with the officials and took various information about the district.

    The Governor held a meeting with District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, Forest Officer, SDM Tanakpur, Chief Medical Officer, District Development Officer at NHPC Guest House and took details of various works, activities, health arrangements, works being done in the field of self-employment. After getting information from all the officers about their achievements and challenges, he asked them to use their energy and potential and improve the standard of living of the people of the district. During the meeting, the Governor said that Champawat district being a border district, the geographical conditions here are different. It is necessary to improve the communication along with road connectivity in the area. He said that the possibilities of forest products and herbs are ample in the district, which should be used properly.

    During the meeting, District Magistrate Shri Vineet Tomar informed the Governor about the geographical conditions of Champawat district, the work being carried out, the innovative efforts being undertaken as well as the various problems, incidents of natural calamity and various arrangements to be made to deal with them. The Governor told all the officers of the district that there is a possibility of increase in many crimes like illegal infiltration, drug smuggling due to the district being marginal, so the administration should take action against it with urgency. He said that almighty has bestowed a unique beauty to Champawat and many activities are possible here so that development of this area can be done.

    During the discussion about health sector, he said that the Chief Medical Officer should make efforts to deal with the medical challenges by establishing coordination with all the concerned officers. He also discussed the possible dangers of Corona. He also talked about efforts to make people partners with enthusiasm for vaccination. He Said that people should be encouraged for 100 percent vaccination.

    Governor then held talks with the ex-servicemen. Assured them of all possible help. The local people met the Governor.

    District Magistrate Shri Vineet Tomar, SP Devendra Pincha, Forest Officer Terai East Sandeep Kumar, Additional District Magistrate Shri Shivcharan Dwivedi, SDM Himanshu Kafaltia, Commandant 57th SSB Sitarganj, attended the meeting. GM NHPC Rajeev Sachdeva, Dr KK Agarwal, DDO Santosh Kumar Pant and other officers were present.
