    21-10-2025 : Governor offers prayers at Badrinath Dham prays for the prosperity and well-being of the State and the Nation

    Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd.) visited the sacred Badrinath Dham on Tuesday, where he offered prayers to Lord Badri Vishal and participated in a special puja. On this divine occasion, he prayed for the peace, prosperity, and progress of the nation and the State. Upon his arrival, District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar and Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar welcomed the Governor.

    The Governor reviewed the progress of works under the Badrinath Master Plan and was briefed by District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar. Expressing satisfaction over the progress of the Civic Amenity Centre, Civic Community Centre, Arrival Plaza, and Hospital Building, the Governor appreciated the ongoing developmental efforts, remarking that such initiatives are steering the nation towards the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). He directed the executing agencies to prepare a detailed, photo-documented report of the project’s progress. The Governor also instructed that the cleanliness of Sheshnetra and Badrish lakes be maintained and that proper upkeep of lighting and other facilities along the Aastha Path be ensured.

    The Governor commended the district administration for effective management of the Char Dham Yatra, appreciating the seamless coordination between the police administration and the temple committee. He congratulated all those involved—including members of the temple committee, pandas, purohits, police personnel, and administrative officers—for their dedication and teamwork, urging them to continue their excellent efforts.

    Sharing his experience, the Governor said he felt a deep sense of divinity at Badrinath Dham and was moved by the joy and devotion reflected on the faces of all present. He urged devotees from across India and the world to visit Badrinath Dham and experience its spiritual grace. The Governor also instructed the district administration to continue maintaining efficient arrangements to ensure that future pilgrims have a smooth and fulfilling darshan experience.

    Among those present on the occasion were Chief Development Officer Dr. Abhishek Tripathi, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Chandrashekhar Vashishth, Deputy Superintendent of Police Madan Singh Bisht, BKTC Officer-in-Charge Vipin Tiwari, Executive Officer of Badrinath Nagar Panchayat Sunil Purohit, and other officials and staff members.
